Project Description
The Indiana Department of Transportation selected Krempp Construction, Inc. as the general contractor for a new Unit and Salt Storage facility located in Oakland City, IN. The Unit Building consisted of an office area, a maintenance bay for servicing fleet vehicles, as well as a wash bay to clean salt trucks. The Unit Building was composed of masonry walls and a joist and deck roof system. The Salt storage facility consisted of a salt storage area, brine maker system, brine system tanks and containment bay, and a brine system controls hut. The salt building was a concrete structure utilizing a structural steel framed roof system with vinyl fabric.
