Our company is built upon its people.
The Krempp family traces its first public construction project to 1877 when Andrew Krempp was awarded a contract of $149.00 for the grading of East Sixth Street in Jasper. In 1879, Andrew was awarded the $500.00 contract for grading the public square in Jasper. Now in the 5th and 6th generation, the Krempp’s continue to construct quality public and private buildings throughout Southern Indiana as Krempp Construction, Inc.
Here at Krempp Construction, we are very proud of our long history of successfully completed projects. We have enjoyed working together with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to complete these projects on time and within budget, utilizing our team approach. We have a very experienced management team and workforce who have handled difficult jobs time and time again. We take great pride in watching a piece of ground go from nothing to a beautifully finished product and look forward to the next generation providing our customers with a quality project that works for them over the long term.
Andrew B. Krempp – President
Andy (5th generation) started working for his father at Krempp Lumber Company in the 1970s while a student at Jasper High School and Indiana University. Andy started full time in June 1980 after earning a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Andy became General Manager in 1986 and succeeded Ken Krempp as President in 1994. Today, he continues as the President of Krempp Construction, Inc.
Andy States that some of the goals passed in from his father, Kenny, were to work diligently to complete a project to the owners utter satisfaction. If the owner was happy, the project was deemed successful. Another such goal was to provide our employees with good wages and safe working conditions. Many employees have been with us for life and we are proud of building a great working relationship through the company.
John F. Krempp – Secretary/Treasurer
John grew up working in the family business, and since 1978 has been employed in sales with the company’s building material division and as a laborer for the construction division. Upon graduating from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a Business Management degree in 1985, John began work at Krempp Construction as a Project Manager and Estimator. He was elected to the company’s Board of Directors where he has served since 1985. He served as Vice-President from 1986-1994, and as Secretary/Treasurer since 1994.
From his work in small business, John has worn many hats from all phases of construction including design, layout, estimating, purchasing, hiring, quality control, safety, and project management. He has been the estimator and project manager on many multi-million dollar, complex projects over the past 30 years, and manages the company’s design-build program, along with federal government multi-year contracts.
John takes great pride in Krempp’s outstanding reputation for quality and integrity, and the lifelong relationships that have formed with customers, suppliers, and employees.
John believes that Krempp Construction’s reputation will continue to grow through the dedication, experience and hard work of its employees, along with the company’s culture of honesty, integrity, willingness and drive to “do the right thing no matter what.”

Bill still serves in that capacity today as the Vice President of Krempp Construction, Inc.

He currently serves as President of the Finance Council at Precious Blood Church and as a Founding Director of Freedom Bank. Greg A. Stieneker – Senior Project Manager
Greg began working at Krempp Construction in 1999 after moving back to his native southern Indiana with his wife and three sons. Upon graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1989, Greg began working with Geupel Demars in Indianapolis as a Project Engineer and then accepted a project management position with F.A. Wilhelm Construction in 1994 where he remained until going to work with Krempp Construction.
Since 1999, Greg has successfully completed many building projects with Krempp Construction including schools, banks, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, high profile, high tech design/build projects, and Navy/Army projects for the Government at the Crane Naval Services Activities Center in Crane, Indiana. He has had the opportunity to complete several “one of a kind” projects that are the purest form of design/build because they are the first of their kind. As a Project Manager, Greg is responsible for all facets of a project from writing proposals and estimating, to overseeing the design and construction from start to finish.
Greg loves what Krempp Construction is all about: the highly professional atmosphere where honesty, integrity, work ethic, and family values create a driving force resulting in a quality product and highly satisfied clients.
“It is a pleasure to work each day because the people I work with are all on the same page and focused on building together. No matter the task, we all give it our best effort. There is real pride in workmanship and performing a project in the best interest of the client.”
Alex P. Krempp – Project Manager
Alex began working in the family business at age 15. His roles early on varied from working with building materials and loading customers around the lumber yard, running deliveries and maintenance, coordinating and prepping materials for construction projects and eventually working in the construction field on many of the job sites through high school and college. Alex graduated from IUPUI in 2013 with a major in Construction Engineering Management Technology (CEMT) through Purdue University and a minor in Business Management through Indiana University Kelly School of Business. Alex came back to the family business after college to start his career in the construction industry with main roles as a project manager, estimator, and equipment manager. He has since been involved in many different large-scale construction projects and has been building his knowledge in the construction field through being involved in all stages of those projects from design/estimating to final closeout, and everything in between.
Alex appreciates the great effort and detail it takes by all parties involved in a construction project to go from a vacant piece of land or an old structure that is falling apart, to a beautiful top-quality facility that can be used for many years to come.
