Krempp Constructions has a long and storied history dating back to 1864 when Andrew Krempp Sr., a German immigrant, settled in southern Indiana and began working in the road construction and general supply industry. His son, Andrew B. Krempp, followed in his father’s footsteps and opened Traylor & Krempp in the early 1900s. The Traylor & Krempp Logo can still be seen on sidewalks throughout Jasper.
In 1918, Andrew B. Krempp acquired Traylor’s equity in the business and was later joined by his son Edwin in 1923. The family business was formally incorporated as The Krempp Lumber Company in 1928. In the latter 1900s Edwin’s sons, Ken and Stan, took over the company and expanded it into new areas of entrepreneurship. Stan Krempp started and grew what is now known as Aristokraft Cabinetry, while Ken Krempp focused on building and refining The Krempp Lumber Company’s Construction Division and Building Materials Division.
In the next generation, Ken passed the business on to his sons, Andy, John, and Bill. During their tenure, the construction division of the business continued to grow and evolve into a general construction company focusing on large institutional and commercial projects. In 2010, the construction division of The Krempp Lumber Company was separated into its own entity and was incorporated as Krempp Construction, Inc. The Krempp Lumber Company was eventually sold in 2022.
Today, Krempp Construction, Inc. continues to build on its long successful history. It is proud to operate under the guidance of its sixth generation and works diligently to maintain a strong reputation. The feedback received from owners and architects is consistent: Krempp Construction does the job right and operates at a level that far exceeds that of its competitors. The company has stood the test of time and looks forward to another successful century serving customers.
